Effective all round observation throughout the manoeuvre showing consideration to other road users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Potential deviations from expected outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Control:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Poor co-ordination of controls<\/li><li>Stalling<\/li><li>Mounting the pavement or kerb<\/li><li>Turning the steering wheel, the wrong way<\/li><li>Going wide after the corner<\/li><li>Finishing at an acute angle<\/li><li>Scrubbing-brushing-touching the kerb<\/li><li>Taking an excessive amount of time to complete the manoeuvre.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Observation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>No blind spot checks<\/li><li>No observation at or before the point of turn<\/li><li>Excessive use of the door mirrors<\/li><li>Not looking directly behind<\/li><li>Not reacting to passing or approaching vehicles<\/li><li>Not reacting to pedestrians<\/li><li>Waiting unnecessarily for other roads users<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Examples of what might constitute something that would result in a fault being marked<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Driving fault<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Demonstrates understanding of rear observations but is marginally late when taking the required observation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Serious fault<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Essential observation missed when starting the manoeuvre, unaware of the presence of other road users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dangerous fault<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any situation brought about by the above lack of observation that resulted in actual danger to the examiner, candidate, the general public or property.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"class_list":["post-3134","mpcs-lesson","type-mpcs-lesson","status-publish","hentry"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/clientcentredlearning.co.uk\/courses\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/mpcs-lesson\/3134","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/clientcentredlearning.co.uk\/courses\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/mpcs-lesson"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/clientcentredlearning.co.uk\/courses\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/mpcs-lesson"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/clientcentredlearning.co.uk\/courses\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3134"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
